Slept remarkably well!! Good morning!
I spent the weekend at my parents place and it was nice. It turned out they wanted to get me birthday presents. I hadn't even considered they wanted to do something for my birthday. What an odd thing to realise. We had popeyes fried chicken, which is relatively new in the country I think. It was extremely good. I ate so much spicy chicken my appetite didn't return for 24 hours.
We went out to kmart, I got a combination shoe rack and bench I could misuse as over monitor shelving for my manga and ttrpg books (picture of the end result below), I got a new pillow with a cooling gel pad on it and it's delightful, I slept very well with it. I got a quilted mattress protector which is very comfy too. I also got a teapot and a coffee plunger!
I tried tea last night and it was actually alright! I've had tea before but I was much younger, it was milky and just. I don't like milk. Blasphemous as a New Zealander but it creeps me out. Unsullied black gumboot (what we call plain tea) with a teaspoon of raw sugar is really fine actually. It's very one note. I think it needs floral or fruity tastes or something. Maybe I'll become a chai masala girl. Unfortunately many of the flowery and fruit teas are "naturally" decaffeinated because they contain no real tea so I'll have to mix and match bags and leaves in my pot. I'll update you again with my tea adventures. It's so far winning over coffee far and away.
